Emily was a rowing coach at Durham university. The Uni were involved in a 24 hr Ergo and Emily asked todays Bestman James, to round up all the Rugby lads to do a minutes rowing each. James did just that and brought along a guy called Matt Tickle.
Now his Surname, 'Tickle', appealed to Emily and so did his charms, they started to date and fell in love.
2013 whilst on a break in Barcelona, Matt whilst under the influence of alcohol asked Emily if she would spend the rest of her life with him by becoming his wife. The proposal wasn't planned and he didn’t have the ring.
Emily and Matt are from Ormskirk in Lancashire and chose, The Tithebarn within Meols Hall, Southport to tie the knot. Their whole wedding day was at Meols Hall with the ceremony at 1.30pm witnessed by 75 of their friends and family. The wedding breakfast was as usual cooked and served by our friends at Caringtons catering. Emma Cartmel was the photographer and Graham Eyes the butcher did the fabulous hog roast for supper.
